Welcome to Session 4 of the Discerning the Voice of God online Bible study! This week, we continued to study the Holy Spirit’s role in hearing the voice of God. We hope that you are starting to more clearly sense the presence of the Holy Spirit in the day-to-day and as you study. We’re excited to hear more about what you’re learning as we discuss this week!
As a reminder, we’ll leave the videos up until March 31, 2018. After that you can purchase or rent video sessions here.
Did you miss our first three sessions? Don’t worry!
Before we jump into Session 4, we’d love to hear more about what you learned this week walking through Week 3: The Holy Spirit’s Voice in your Bible study book. Answer one or both of these questions in your group or in the comments below!
- How does being aware of God’s persistence relieve any feelings of condemnation regarding your own growth and maturity in learning to hear God? (page 75)
- Recall a time when a Scripture verse or passage seemed highlighted or personalized specifically for you. What did you do, if anything, to record or mark this moment? (page 87)
Now, let’s jump in to the Session 4 video! Turn to the viewer guide on page 103 of your Bible study book to follow along and fill in the blanks. Don’t have your book yet? Here’s an answer guide you can use while you wait. Miss an answer? Find it here.
After watching the video, answer one or more of these questions in your group or in the comments below to participate in the discussion with our friends around the world!
- In searching for God’s instruction, have you found yourself losing sight of God Himself in favor of the things He may give? How might you refocus your efforts to get to know God for Himself and not for the blessings or instructions He could give you?
- Is there one thought or sentence that stuck out to you in this week’s video? What stood out and why?
