2015’s Top Blog Posts
It’s that time of the year where everyone is sharing their favorite things and recapping the events of the last 12 months. I always like to see blog posts and news articles about the random things that people rank. It’s a fun way to look back over the year.
Today I thought I’d join the masses and share with you my top 5 most viewed blog posts for 2015. I pretty much knew what #1 would be based on the summer’s brew-ha-ha that I unintentionally became a part of. Nothing like a controversy to bring people out to your blog, huh?
Let’s take a trip down memory lane and revisit my top posts for the year. I’m going all Letterman on you and starting with #5 first!
5. Killing Christians by Tom Doyle (March 18, 2015)
I love that this one was viewed a lot. It was on one of my favorite books for the year and is focused on the persecuted church. The book houses powerful testimonies of our brothers and sisters in the Middle East who are daily faced with the decision to turn away from Christ and live or remain faithful to Him and possibly die. It serves as such a great reminder that we need to be in constant prayer for them.
4. My Favorite Fiction Books of 2015 (December 17, 2015)
I know that a majority of this blog’s readership are big fiction fans so it doesn’t surprise me that last week’s post with my favorite novels ranked high. I’m also blessed to have many novelists support not only this blog but also LifeWay Christian Stores and who are great about spreading the word. Thanks, author friends!
3. Believe by Randy Frazee (January 28, 2015)
We had Pastor Randy Frazee from Oak Hills Church in San Antonio stop by at the first of the year to share about the new book and curriculum, Believe. This group of products was welcomed into many churches this year to help people get more into God’s Word. I love that there is a hunger for Scripture out there!
2. Blessed, Blessed, Blessed by Missy Robertson (October 8, 2015)
Our second highest viewed post came from this fall when Missy Robertson shared with us about her new book, Blessed, Blessed, Blessed. What a response this got on social media! It was cool to see the post pop up on Twitter and Facebook from people I didn’t know. Missy’s sweet spirit resonates with so many across the country and it was fun to hear from her.
Drum roll please… and my top viewed blog post of 2015 was…
1. What’s Really Going on With Christian Fiction (July 10, 2015)
My word, that was an insane week back in July! I responded to another blog post that was done by an industry veteren on the state of Christian fiction. In his original blog post, he shared some accurate realities but also did some bashing on retailers, us in particular. My response opened up a great dialogue with many of you and with a lot of authors. I was a little apprehensive on how the post would be viewed. Even now, 6 months later, I still recall how blessed I was to have so many of you affirm what we do here at LifeWay. Fiction is dear to my heart, both personally and professionally, so I’m grateful for the outpouring of support I received during this time!
Whew! What a great year here on Shelf Life!
We’re already working on plans for 2016 and that includes a fresh, new look! Thanks to your faithfulness to hanging out with us each day. I love hearing from so many of you and what you are loving in books.
Grateful for you all!
