Preschool: Unit 1: Session 4: Work Together (March 23)

1s & 2s—Set the Table

Bible Story: Special Instructions Exodus 35:4-35

 

 Life Point: God wants people to work together.

Bible Phrase: Work together. Ephesians 6:7

 Christ Focus: Jesus call the church to join Him in His mission.

Bible Focus: The people worked together to help build the tent church.

 Materials: Teaching Picture 4, toy plates and cups, large construction paper, marker

  • Before the session, trace around a plate and cup on each piece of construction paper to show preschoolers where to put them. Arrange the placemats and dishes on a table with the Teaching Picture.
  • Invite preschoolers to work together to set the table. Thank them for working together. Show the Teaching Picture. Talk about the Bible story.
  • Comment that the people worked together to bring the things needed to build the tent church. Say the Life Verse.

3–Pre-K—Work with a Friend to Paint a Picture

Bible Story: God Planned the Tabernacle Exodus 35:4-35

Life Point: God wants people to work together.

Life Verse: Work together with a good attitude. Ephesians 6:7

Christ Focus: Jesus wants people to work together.

Bible Focus: The people worked together to bring what was needed to build the tabernacle.

Materials: Teaching Picture 4, oatmeal box and lid, two marbles, two bowls and spoons, paint, paper, scissors, painting smocks

  • Cut the paper to fit the oatmeal box. Put a small amount of paint into each bowl and add a marble and a spoon. Display the Teaching Picture with the art materials.
  • Invite two children to work together to paint. Help them put on smocks. Put paper into the box and guide a child to spoon the marbles into the box. Attach the lid and instruct the children to roll the box gently back and forth to each other. After a few rolls, remove the lid, marbles, and painting. Continue by letting the other child make a painting.
  • Talk about the Bible story as the children roll the box. Comment that the people worked together to bring what was needed for the tabernacle. Thank them for working together.

Kindergarten—Decorate a Banner

Bible Story: God Planned the Tabernacle Exodus 35:4-35

 

 Life Point: God wants people to work together.

Life Verse: Work together with a good attitude. Ephesians 6:7

 Christ Focus: Jesus wants people to work together.

Bible Focus: The people worked together to bring what was needed to build the tabernacle.

Materials: Teaching Picture 4, long piece of art paper, markers, colorful dot stickers

  • Print the Life Verse in the center of the paper. Display the Teaching Picture with the art materials.
  • Help the kindergartners read the verse when they come to the center. Talk about the people working together to bring everything that was needed to build the tabernacle.
  • Explain that they can work together to decorate the Life Verse Banner. Kindergartners can decorate the letters with stickers or draw pictures or designs in the white space with markers.
