Back when I was a student minister, it seemed that we were always looking at the calendar for the next big event we could host. This is not a bad idea; a lot of churches (especially in student ministries) host large events so that many will come and ultimately hear the gospel. I recall the buzz around the high school wondering what my church was going to do for an “End of the Year” party. It was incredible, and it felt like most of the school was in attendance. But, at the end of the day, we were party planners.
How can you take an approach that’s more than just attractional? It’s great to get people in the doors of your ministry, but how can you take them deeper? I sat down with John Paul Basham who runs our Student Publishing for a few helpful tips.
One way to take your students deeper is with the BRAND NEW Daily Discipleship Guide. This guide is used weekly during your gathering time – but then it also has 5 devotionals so that your students can go deeper on their own throughout the week. This is a great opportunity to have your students strengthening their walk with God.
