Another great way to build community is through a meal as Acts 2 tells us to devote ourselves to the fellowship and to the breaking of bread. With summer heat now upon us, it’s the perfect time to get outside and fire up the grill. Below is one of my favorite simple recipes that you can use to open up your own home to your neighbors, small group, or entire congregation!
1 tbsp Vegetable oil
2 tbsp Salt
½ cup of your favorite bbq sauce
1 tbsp ground Chipotle Pepper (Optional)
Set up two cooking zones on your grill: a high heat side and a low heat side.
Toss all ingredients together in a large bowl. Sear the chicken on the high heat side of the grill for 5-7 minutes for the skin to get nice and crispy, then move it to the low heat
Cook on the low heat side for 20-30 min, or until the internal temp is over 165 F.
Return to high heat for 1-2 min to get any crisp back that was lost during the slow cook.
That’s it! It’s an easy recipe, delicious, and I hope it can help you build community this summer. Enjoy!
