As the heat continues to rise, the spirits of these participants rises with it. Every day, more and more lives are being touched and more and more work is being done. Houses are being painted, fences are being built, and relationships are being formed between the students and the people here in Clovis.
I usually wait till the end of the week to announce things like this, but this is such an awesome story, I can’t wait to tell it. Today, a few people from one of the crews that was painting a house was able to talk to the homeowner. After some laughs and conversation, they found out that she has had cancer for five years and that her husband also has a very serious illness. They then began to tell her their stories of how Jesus has impacted their lives, and they talked about the gospel, and God’s love for her. A few minutes later, she accepted Christ into her life, and a lost soul made it home.
The work that these students and leaders are doing this week matters. It’s because of stories like these that we do what we do. This is why we’re here.
I ask that you please pray for this homeowner, that her walk with Christ will grow everyday, and that she is able to lead other people to a relationship with God. Please also pray for the other homeowners and the people of Clovis. Pray that they will also see the love that God has for them and that their lives will be changed for ever.
