Summer 2015….RECONCILE

Before summer 2014 is finished, we want to give Group Leaders, participants, and parents a preview of the 2015 theme, Reconcile. All of our summer missions projects will be this theme.

Here is a basic description…

Next summer we will be exploring the theme Reconcile. It is a powerful and liberating message that helps students understand that God wants to make us a new creation, reconciling us to Himself through Christ. He has given us the ministry of reconciliation to help others be reconciled to God through Christ, and He calls us to be agents of reconciliation to all tribes, tongues, and nations.

We will be focusing on the following three areas:

1)      God wants us to be reconciled to Him through His Son, Jesus.

2)      He also wants us to go into the world and help others be reconciled to God through His Son, Jesus.

3)      Finally, He wants us to be agents of reconciliation, helping mend relationships and heal wrongs through the power of the grace and forgiveness of Jesus.

As we unpack this theme, students will be hit with the truth but also comforted with the depth and weight of all that Christ has done for us.

Our key passage for the summer will be 2 Corinthians 5:17-21.

We hope to see you there! Here is the full schedule for all of our student mission trips.

He is the God of This City!

On this beautiful misty morning in San Francisco, the World Changers Crews set out to love the people we were called to love.  They spent most of the day serving homeowners by cleaning, painting, constructing, and all sorts of other tasks.  The students were given the opportunity to love the homeowners in that way, and they have been loving them well.  Christ has been made known.

After a full day of working, the students were sent out to go and be the hands and feet of Christ in the San Francisco area.  Some went to clean the sidewalks and pick up trans; others met people and prayed over them.  Some groups got to go and shoot hoops with people in the community, while others listened to the stories of hurting people.  The night was full of interactions that only further magnified His name.

We cannot wait to see what tomorrow has in store!  Don’t forget to send E-couragrams to these students who are so faithfully serving.

Thank you,

Your Summer Staff

Changing the World

God is doing some amazing things here in St Louis.  Lives are being changed and love is being shown.  The Crow Bars, Hammer Heads, and Hard Hats have been doing an awesome job at that this week!  The Crow Bars have been tearing out an old concrete sidewalk and stairs and putting in a new one.

The Hammer Heads have been scraping paint and putting on a new coat.

The Hard Hats are putting new siding on a part of a house.

All of our crews are showing the love of Christ by pouring into this city and its people.  Pray that they would remain strong through these last two days and rely on God for directions and encouragement!  You can also still send in E-courograms!

Spirit Lead Me…

The second work day is OVER! We had another great day of work and all of the students really impressed us again with how hard they worked. Even better, at least two community members made the decision today on worksites to follow Christ for the very first time! Did I mention that we’re only HALFWAY through the week?! We can’t believe what God is already doing in Baton Rouge and we can’t wait to see what else he has in store for these students and this community.

Tonight at The Gathering we dug into the Word of God and into our hearts to talk about the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is often overlooked, but he is an integral part of the trinity and is equal to God the Father and Jesus Christ. We learned that the Holy Spirit convicts us of our sins, reveals God’s perfect character, reveals judgement, and shines light into dark places. Jesus had to go so that the Holy Spirit could come and what a gift he is! Pray that over the next two days we would be made aware of the Holy Spirit in our lives as we interact with people on our crews and especially people in the community. The Holy Spirit is a spirit of power, love, and self-control and we have DIRECT ACCESS to it as believers. How amazing is our God!

We’re halfway through this tough week, now is the perfect time to send your students an E-COURAGRAM! They need the encouragement to make it through the rest of the week!

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine! Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!

Community Night!!

Today was the second day of work and our third day of World Changers Guayama. Our students are working very hard on the work sites. I had the chance to pass by a few ministry work sites and could see the students working on the community. One of the crews is working in an elderly place, making some crafts with them and a mural for them.

We had community night and we had a lot of visits, some of them trying to know more about the local church. Also some kids came to the church and had dinner with us, they were playing around on the bouncy house, having some fun!! The worship band of the local church, El Mesias, lead worship along side our music leader and they were awesome!

Do not forget you can send some encouragement to the participants by sending them an E-couragram!

Timber!

Today was a bit different at World Changers Brunswick. The crews worked diligently until quittin’ time. After everyone got back, they showered and left with their crews to their host churches, the nice folks who have been feeding them lunch this week. There, they had dinner and worshipped with the church, although some crews got lucky, for their churches took them to the beach! The summer staff and coordinators may or may not have been a little jealous. The work the crews are doing is incredible! From tearing down chimneys to constructing a new roof or vinyl siding. On another note, thank you ALL for your prayers. The storm rolled in at exactly 3:30, and by that time 100% of the crews finished for the day! God does answer prayers!

Hello World Changers!

Hello, World Changers!

You are here and you are surviving. You are working and worshipping and thriving. We are proud of you, Philadelphia appreciates you, and Yahweh is crazy about you! Keep up the hard work!

Here are some pictures of our project, the arrivals, and their worksites!

Work, Work, Work! Share, Share, Share!

It’s been a great day in Franklin! Today our participants went out for day two on the worksites, and what a day two it has been! When visiting worksites today, we saw so much amazing progress and enthusiastic workers serving the Kingdom of God! And the Lord has honored our time here by blessing us with a cool morning and a not too hot afternoon. Be praying for more great weather!

As our crews have knocked out a large part of their work, we hope they are spending their down time by sharing Jesus Christ with the people of Franklin, homeowners and neighbors alike! We’ve already heard a few stories of how the Spirit is moving in people’s hearts, thanks to some of our students stepping out boldly in faith and sharing the good news. At the halfway point of the week, this is amazing news! Who knows what else the Lord will have done by the time everyone leaves here on Saturday morning. Be praying for more bold and hope-filled hearts! Ask God for His will to be done in all things!

Enjoy these pictures from the day below, and send a student here some encouragement via an E-Couragram!

Tuesday Update!

Our students had another awesome day of ministry at their worksites!

Today I had the opportunity to talk a homeowner of one of the houses that our crews have been working on.  She told me that she has been on the city’s wait-list for a new roof for more than two years.  She is so excited to have one of our crews providing her with a new roof! We are really blessing the people of Roanoke.

Our crews have been working hard!
