Here are a few things we’re loving this week.
Because today is the first day of Lent, we wanted to focus many of our “loves” on preparing our hearts and minds for Easter. Whether you observe Lent or not, this week begins a special season in the Christian life as we begin to look to the cross.
We love the idea of following one Gospel from start to finish in preparation for Easter. That’s why we’re so excited about studying The Gospel of Mark together with you online. It’s not too late to join us! Click here to sign up and find out how to get started.
Kelly Minter talked about preparing for Easter through Lent yesterday on her blog. We love how she talks about Lent as a marker in her spiritual journey.
The She Reads Truth girls, Raechel and Amanda, popped over to Annie Downs’ That Sounds Fun Podcast and answered questions about Lent. We love how they remind us to focus on God’s Word during this season.
We discovered this recently and we love it—Desiring God partnered with Shane and Shane’s The Worship Initiative to write short meditations for over 100 popular worship songs and hymns. Just go here and click on a song. You can learn how to play it, if you’re musically inclined, and then scroll down a bit more to see the devotion. Hymns and praise songs have a special place in our hearts, and we think reading and listening to these would be a perfect way to prepare your heart for Easter.
Finally, we have some celebrating to do! Nicki Koziarz’s 5 Habits of a Woman Who Doesn’t Quit and A Woman Who Doesn’t Quit Bible study are turning 1! To celebrate, Nicki is hosting a week of giveaways on her blog. We love it! Check out her blog to enter to win!
