Did you know you’re a leader? Yes, I’m talking to you! Whether you realize it or not, you are a woman of influence.
You don’t have to have a fancy title on your resumé, tens of thousands of Instagram followers, or be the author of a New York Times bestselling book to have influence. Your influence can be as simple as sitting down with a friend over coffee and talking about life, pointing them to the truth of the gospel in all circumstances. Your influence is found in how you lead your children; how your attitude affects your friends; and how you respect your barista, coworkers, and church staff.
Who do you influence most? Who influences you most? Motivational speaker Jim Rohn once said that we are the average of the five people we spend the most time with. If you’re anything like us, it is simultaneously encouraging and terrifying to realize that we are the sum, for better and for worse, of our family members, friends, and coworkers. Do you know what else that means? We are also one of those influential people for at least 5 people in our lives. All the little pieces of who we are—what we say and don’t say, how we react and interact—makes a direct impact on the people we are leading.
Can we take a second for some real talk? That is a lot of responsibility! Owning your influence and choosing to use it for God’s glory is a lifelong process that is only possible through the power of Christ at work in us. But that doesn’t mean we have to go it alone.
Women’s Forum is a national gathering of women of influence just like you—women who lead in their workplaces, homes, churches, and everywhere in between. Forum is a 2-day event designed to challenge leaders, hear teaching from God’s Word, share ideas and strategies, and ultimately leave equipped to lead wherever God has planted us.
The event will take place in Nashville November 11-12, and we would love to have you join us.
