A Look Back at the Forum

If you’ve ever coordinated an event, hosted a party, or planned a wedding, you understand how much work goes into an event like the Women’s Forum. We plan, prepare, delegate, put everything into it, and we pray. I stood back amazed at the end of the Forum at how God answered specific prayers. He brought generations of women together under one roof, for one Name, and for one purpose. Goodness, God showed off! As we worshiped together, I had to remind myself to pause, listen, and look at what God had done. Trust me, I don’t have what it takes to make something like this happen, but God does. It was a beautiful sight to see.

Over the course of three days, there were six general sessions, over 40 breakout sessions, an exhibit hall, opportunities to share ideas, network, and get to know other women. Over 850 women from at least 13 different denominations and at least 35 states (and Canada!) came together to be trained and equipped. There were over 100 women under 35 who attended for the very first time, and we came together to fill up so that we can pour out.

Whatever capacity that God has called you to serve women, this event is for you. We hope that you’ll consider joining us for the Women’s Forum in 2014! The dates are November 13-15, and we’ll be here at LifeWay in Nashville, Tennessee. Priscilla Shirer, Angie Smith, Kelly Minter, and Tami Heim will be our keynote speakers, and Travis Cottrell will be back to lead us in worship.

The theme is “Unveiled… Before God, Before Each Other” and we’ll be looking at 2 Corinthians 3:18, “We all, with unveiled faces, are looking as in a mirror at the glory of the Lord and are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory; this is from the Lord who is the Spirit.”

We hope to see you at the Women’s Forum next year!

If you were in attendance this year, leave a comment with your biggest takeaway from the Forum!

I loved every single moment of it. My favorite parts? A couple of the breakouts that I took (spiritual warfare and drudgery to delight specifically) but my biggest takeaway was the moments of absolute thickness of the presence of God. Ester Burroughs ended her time “chatting” with us about things we can take away….she began to sing Holy Holy Holy Lord God Almighty when Travis Cottrell stood and lead us in the rest of the song a cappella. Goose bumps still to this moment. and though I am back from my time in the Jesus bubble, I have been singing that song as I approach His throne of grace every morning!

I loved every minute of it!! This was my first time attending (I was given the opportunity 2 days before it started and I knew God wanted me there). I enjoyed the breakout sessions immensely. My soul was moved by the grace and joy of Margaret Feinberg- God’s strength shined through in her weakness. It was unforgettable. There was no denying God’s presence as Ester finished and Travis led us in Holy Holy Holy Lord God Almighty. At that moment, my knees went weak and I almost hit the floor. It was powerful as God filled each one of us with his presence. I will be returning in 2014 and every year after, God willing. Thank you to all the hard workers at Lifeway that make this event possible. You are appreciated more than you know!

This was my first Forum and I was so blessed from the moment I walked up to the building at Lifeway. The scripture all over the building took my breath away. The times of praise were so heavy with the Presence of The Lord I just wept. Margaret’s talk was probably the most astonishing of the group sessions to me. Today! It’s all we have. Another huge takeaway came from one of the younger speakers Maegan Brown: A hands breadth is all our lives are. And an echo throughout all: IT’S ALL ABOUT JESUS!!! I could go on but I will stop there. :0)
