Ladies, Father’s Day is just 9 days away, and we have a great gift idea we think the men in your life will really enjoy!

NFL quarterback Colt McCoy and Matt Carter (Austin Stone Community Church) teamed up to write The Real Win. In this book, McCoy and Carter wrestle deeply and personally with the challenge of biblical manhood, then deliver down-to-earth, biblical answers based on their personal experiences and a close study of Scripture.

“The real win means trusting the Lord and walking with Jesus no matter what,” write Matt and Colt. “That kind of faithfulness is possible for any man who follows God with all his heart. No matter what circumstances threaten him, a faithful man is the most truly confident man in the room.”

McCoy and Carter show men why so much depends on who you trust and who you serve, why every man is called to lead and why every man can, how to “man up” to temptations (and conquer them), and how to find the “win” even in the biggest failures.

Check out this quick video about the book (and make sure you watch through the end to see Carter catch a bird with one hand)!

I would love this for my husband.

  2. Katherine says:

My husband is special to me, because he balances military, home, and church life like a pro! He is dedicated to his relationship with Christ and that filters down to every other role he lives. He is an engine mechanic in the Air Force. God has placed him in that role as a mentor, confidant, and an example of the way men should live. It is a brutal place to work, but each day he trusts that it is where he should be. He is a dedicated father of our three children (11, 7, and 5). At church, he is a youth leader and is currently in Colorado helping lead a wilderness trip with the kids. He has a lot going on, but tries his hardest to stay focused on what matters most in life.

  3. Orenda Smith says:

I would love to have this for my husband. In the two years we have been married my husband never really understood what it meant to lead his family. And now that God is opening his eyes and heart to what God meant it to be for him to lead his home, I think this would be a great read for him to grow more in who God created him to be. God Bless to all :)

  4. Karen Simmons says:

    My husband has taught me so much about God’s persevering love and commitment. This love he expresses not only to his family but to those who come into his path. Thanks Dan for being a man of God;

  5. Jen Rice says:

I would love to win this for my husband! He is a pastor and I think this would be a great read for him so that he can share what he learns with other men he ministers to:)

  6. My father passed away a little over 3 years ago. My husband is a wonderful Christian man who has been a bivocational pastor for many, many years. I think this book would be great for one of our son-in-laws. Thank you!

  7. Jenna Bordelon says:

I would love to win this book for my husband. We are a young, married couple. We have a beautiful little girl, Saylor, who will turn 1 in July. I am currently in school to earn a degree in Early Childhood Education. I’m so proud and thankful for my husband and his drive to work a full time job as well as mow grass on the side in order to support his family while I’m in school. Despite his sore muscles and exhaustion from working in the hot sun of Louisiana, he always comes home at night ready to get on the floor and play with our little girl and laugh while spending time with me. He’s such an inspiration to me and I appreciate all the sacrifices he makes for our family more than he knows! In everything he does, he glorifies God and gives praise to Him! I know he would really enjoy reading this book! I feel like it would give him the continued strength and encouragement he needs to continue working so hard to make sure me and our baby girl are taken care of. I also feel like this book provide a much needed relaxation time in his very busy days. I would love for you to consider my husband for one of the three books to give away! Thanks so much for giving everyone this chance! :)

  8. Kristy Kay says:

My dad passed away in 2004, and I still miss him like crazy! My husband is a great dad but his role is being redefined as our kids are leaving childhood and entering the teen years. I know he would love this book. Thanks for the chance to win it!

  9. Kiersten Griffith says:

My dad left when I was five leaving my mom to raise 3 children on her own. Ever since then, The Lord has provided adopted dads in my life that I could look up to for advice, encouragement and guidance. Because my mom has never remarried I never had the opportunity of having a dad in the home.

After a radical transformation in my life that only came from The Lord and lots of restoration, I was given the opportunity to live with my mentors. They are such special people in my life. Because they have never been able to have children, The Lord worked all things for good by allowing them to know what it was like o have a daughter in the home and me to know what it was like to have a dad in the home. I would like to honor Mike by giving him this gift on the 2nd Father’s Day that I truly can celebrate!!

  10. I would love this for my dad who has been and still is today a prayer warrior for my family!

  11. This would be a great resource for the Men’s group that has recently started at our church. What a way to draw men deeper into their faith by using hunting and football. Would love to “gift” the Men’s Bible Study Leader with this book. :)))

  12. Susie Daggett says:

    My dad was always supportive

  13. Donita J says:

I have 3 very special men in my life. My Dad was a godly man that lived his life in a way that pointed people to Christ. One of those people was my husband who after 15 years of marriage saw how my Dad handled a diagnosis of cancer and decided he needed that peace and assurance that only a relationship with Christ can give; at the age of 35 he bent the knee and became a believer in Jesus Christ. My husband is a great father and has been the spiritual leader of our home; leading our family to the foot of the Cross. Third, our son newly married and not a father yet, but no doubt will be an amazing father when the times comes. He has a great legacy to follow. BTW, they are avid hunters and would love this book.

  14. Lesley Geer says:

My husband Matt, is the best man in my life! He is the greatest father to our son Noah and he always knows the right things to say and do to make our lives wonderful! I couldn’t ask for a better husband or father! I think he would really enjoy reading this book.

  15. I would love to win this book for my dad, who has always been and still is a prayer warrior for our family!

  16. Katina Markham says:

My Pastor is a significant man in my life. He is honorable, honest, and humble. Sometimes we tend to think that there are no real men or awesome fathers. I love him as a Papa and I respect him as a representative of a man of God.

  17. My hubby is the spiritual leader of our family and he is raising our sons to follow Jesus

  18. Denise Ramey says:

I would love to get this book for the men in my family! This is my pastor and the book looks amazing and full of truth!

  19. Dandra Leos~Harrison says:

My husband is a good husband and good father. Yet he struggles with putting his energy on his failures and pleasing others. I know he can benefit if he hears encouragement from men of Faith.

  20. My dad has my lasting admiration as well as my love for his humble service to our family, but also to his church family in a season of profound loss. He is a precious gift from the Lord, and I’m so grateful for him!

  21. Gwen Kuhn says:

I’d live to have a copy of this book for my wonderful husband to have as an affirmation for what God has called and encouraged him to be over our almost-30 year marriage…..and then for him to pass the book on to our 22 year old son, as he prepares to marry his sweetheart and lead their marriage as a godly man.

  22. Kip Roozen says:

My Dad was awesome because thought of others first. He lived out his faith in God by serving othets.

  23. andrea t. says:

My dad showed “Unconditional Love” for all of his children.
NEVER did I question his love!!!!! <3

I’m not married, I do have a nephew who is serving God. He hasn’t always done so, he is married, he has 5 children and he cares for all of them. He is well loved in his community, he makes a difference in people’s lives. He would benefit from this gift.

  25. Angie Miller says:

My daddy is my first love. I love my husband, but no one can take the place of my daddy. He is a very special man!

  26. My husband is ever growing into the man God wants him to be. Sometimes, I look up and shake my head in awe of what God has done in our lives! My husband has grown into a true spititual leader and I am so, so proud to be his wife and my girls are lucky to have an amazing daddy.
