Can I just share the joy LifeWay Women had recently here in Nashville? We hosted a dialogue between various ages of women’s leaders at the table for 3 days to discuss current topics and issues we are facing with women in the church.  Mostly we just dialogued, listened to one another’s hearts, and shared experiences as we grappled with effective ways to help women in today’s world know and grow in Christ.

Here are some takeaways from the topic of today’s culture:

  1. Women today are feasting on some unhealthy diets of issues dealing with sexuality. If you are dealing with that in your church (and I can’t imagine you aren’t!), check out www.thechatwithpriscilla.com for the episode “Are There Really 50 Shades of Grey?” (part 1 and part 2)
  2. We must be continually modeling and teaching holiness according to God’s standards (Lev. 11:44; 1 Peter 1:15)
  3. Teach biblical womanhood according to Scripture, NOT the world. Studies like http://www.truewoman101.com/ can help equip women with truth about who God says they are.

How are you helping women face today’s culture based on God’s truth?

Watch for future posts based on takeaways from our meeting.

  1. I am so excited to see young women rallying to rally together. I think it is vital to recognize that the Levitical Law was a law enforced and reinforced for the good of the chosen ones and the glory of their God. Ultimately, the law was a law of personal health and well being. I praise God that he wants me to be happy and healthy, and remind myself of this idea when I think the law that gives freedom is actually enslaving me from doing what I want to do. It is, but slavery to Him is the only kind that lends FREEDOM to captive and MENDING to the broken hearts.

  2. So true. That’s the kind of slavery that is GOOD!
