The Theology of Secrecy

We talked about secrets this weekend at Living Proof Live.

And how we’ve all had them.

Our triumphs and defeats erupt from our secrets. – Beth Moore

We learned that bad secrets can be the “death” of us (ex: the death of security, liberty, or community).

But that no secrets have to stay bad.

Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man against whom the Lord counts no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit. – Psalm 32:1-2 (ESV)

We also learned that God rewards good secrets (our private wrestling, studying, crying, and sacrificing).

But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face,  that your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. – Matthew 6:17-18 (ESV)

If you want God to manifest something publicly, attend to it privately! – Beth Moore

There is one secret we do not want to keep to ourselves. That is the good news of Jesus Christ! – Beth Moore

And since we were celebrating 15 years of Living Proof Live, we had to find time to party!

Check out this fun behind-the-scenes video of Beth practicing her slingshot skills before the event started Friday.

We hope to see you at another Living Proof Live event soon. We’ll see you next, Eugene!

Words can’t express how much I needed this past weekend in Greensboro and all that God had to say through Beth! It was absolutely essential that I heard the words that He spoke through her! The refreshment, encouragement, and rejuvenation that I received was totally God breathed and my heart still feels the life of it! Everything was simply amazing!
