We’ve all heard of the devastating fires that Colorado Springs has suffered this past month; and if you, like me have friends that are being affected, you’ve spent time on your knees over the past several weeks. Praising God today, that the fires are almost contained and people are beginning to put their lives back together.
It was just about a week ago, folks were being evacuated from their homes….about a week ago , Living Proof Live staff was preparing for an event at the World Arena….about a week ago, LifeWay made the decision to open it’s doors to the families that were affected by the fires and invited them to attend the Living Proof Live event free of charge…about a week ago, God was preparing the hearts of thousands of women that would be attending the event to not only be ready for a Word from God, but also to have the opportunity to minister to many that were experiencing fear and sorrow because of the events happening right outside the doors of the arena. And, blessings were received. 70 fire evacuees attended the event and were able to lay aside their fears for those 2 days and be filled with the Holy Spirit through the teachings of Beth.
One of the fire evacuees, Kathleen Nehring wrote on our LifeWay Women’s Facebook Page:
“Thank you, Beth, Travis and everyone at LifeWay. I attended your event in Colorado Springs Friday night as an evacuee. I was greeted with a hug and a much needed bottle of water. I was sitting off to the side alone when a woman approached me and asked if the chairs next To me were taken. I told her no. Later she came back and asked if I would like to come and join her and her friends. I was happy for the invite. The worship music gripped my heart as tears flowed. When evacuees were asked to stand I heard an audible gasp from the ladies around me. As soon as I was seated offers of shelter were made by these sweet strangers. Words cannot express what this evening meant to me. God spoke and I listened. Matthew 25: 35-40 came to mind as I left; I was thirsty and you gave me water…a stranger and you took me in. Today I awoke in my own bed, in my own home. The devastation less than half a mile away. Looking out my window At the scorched hillsides, I remembered the words I have spoken many times standing here; I lift my eyes to the hills. Where does my help come from? It comes from the Lord, the maker of the heavens and the earth. Bless your ministry for being the hands and feet of Christ.”
We’re all praising God for his mercies on Colorado Springs. Praising and thanking God for women like Kathleen who turn to Our Lord for their strength in the good times and the bad.
