This is a continuation of sharing ideas for connecting the generations of women. See part 1, 2 & 3 first!
More practical ideas for connecting the different generations of women:
10. Monthly conversations-each month one older and one younger woman have the responsibility to plan together the topic and hands on application that will accompany the study. Ideas can include: relationships & marriage, health & wellness, courage & adventure (hiking), beauty & creation (pedi, mani, make up, painting), mentoring & parenting, calling & career (personality inventories, spiritual gifts), justice & caretaking ( mission project), mind & emotions, stewardship & generosity.
11. Index card activity-give each woman in a mixed age group (include girls) an index card. The only instructions are: younger women write one thing you want to learn from an older woman; older women write one thing you want to teach a younger woman, then write your age on the card. Each girl or woman decides if she is the younger or older so you will be surprised to see 35 year olds writing to younger sometimes, and 50 year olds writing to an older! Then read them out loud (no names are attached to the cards). You will see the walls between the generations and the fears of mentoring tumble down as you read them!
