I know it’s a little bit of a cliche’, but I really do love the beginning of a new year. There’s something about a fresh start that makes me extra-hopeful about what’s down the road (I guess because the possibilities really do seem endless), and I’m tickled about 2012 already.
I have a couple of big goals and a few small-ish ones for this year; I’m guessing you probably do, too. And unlike years’ past when I’ve either joined in with my regular Bible study group or taken some time to study alone, this time around I’m going to be doing a study in a group of two. A sweet friend and I have decided to do a study together, and I am so looking forward to sitting down with her every week and talking about what we’ve learned.
I’m also looking forward to sitting down with her and just, you know, talking without being interrupted. Or stopping to fix somebody a sandwich.
NOT THAT THAT EVER HAPPENS, OF COURSE.
And our study this time around? Well, I’ve heard great things about it.

It’s Kelly Minter’s No Other Gods, and I have feeling that the Lord is going to use it to do a little toe-stepping in my life. That’s a good thing.
What about you? What’s your Bible study plan for the first part of the year? Are you trying anything different? Reading through the Bible in a year? Starting a new study?
Happy 2012, y’all.

  1. Love love love this study. I went throught it on my own in 2010 {whoa, crazy!} and talk about toe-stepping! But it lead to a changed life so, awesome!
I’m actually thinking of leading a group through this study this spring. It’s that good. And transformative. Grateful for Kelly and her work. :)

  2. One of my goals for the new year was to do a bible study but I had not decided on what to do. This sounds great! However, do you need to read the book too or not really?
