Creating childhoods

It was a little bit of a rough weekend around our house – some trivial reasons, some deeper reasons – and by Saturday afternoon I was feeling emotionally and physically run-down and worn-out. That’s just the way it goes sometimes, I reckon.
Anyway, tonight I was catching up on some blog reading, and this post by Priscilla Shirer encouraged me so much. There’s so much stuff in my life that I can’t control (thus the yucky mood this weekend), but I can always try to be intentional about what happens in our home.
So today, like Priscilla, I’m going to start a memory list. Makes me smile just thinking about it.
Have a great week, y’all!

Thanks for Sharing Sophie, I just love this. One of my fave childhood memories was of my dad waking us up in the dark of night or wee hours in the morning for some adventure, usually it was to go skiing on Saturday mornings in the NC mountains. We’d wake up to a mountain sunrise and a day of skiing. It would be that or an all night journey to Florida to see my grandparents and dad would let us do his hair and paint his fingernails while he drove and pretended not to notice. I’m an adventuress to this day because of it!
