Thanks to my musical theater back ground, (and Travis’s) we can’t say the word Oklahoma without breaking into the show tune, you know the one, sing it with me
“OOOOOOOOOOOOOOK-lahoma where the wind comes sweeping down the plain….”
I’ve been doing that all week, my team LOVES it.
Yes, Deeper Still Oklahoma, our third and final (last but not least) Deeper Still of the year, AND our final LifeWay Women’s event is here. What a year we have had. Early this year God gave me Jeremiah 17:7-8 as a promise verse for the whole year. It reads:
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is indeed the Lord. He will be like a tree planted by water: it sends its roots out toward a stream, it doesn’t fear when heat comes, and its foliage remains green, It will not worry in a year of drought or cease producing fruit.HCSB
Girls, God has challenged me to trust Him continually in this year of drought in our economy. And he has proven faithful to bring the fruit. Big God fruit of changed lives as I call it. And we are expecting more in Oklahoma City this weekend.
I love that the theme verse for Deeper Still is very similar to the Jeremiah verse. It is Psalm 1:3 which begins with…’He is like a tree planted beside streams of water….” That will be us this weekend. Digging our roots down deep into God’s word. And we’ll have fun doing it.
I don’t know if you are in a season of drought or a season of plenty, but if you are digging your roots down deep to his living waters, whatever your season is, you will bear fruit.
If you will be at Deeper Still, what are you looking forward to most this weekend?
I’m looking forward to it all, especially the fellowship of so many women, and maybe hearing a little Christmas music from our guy Trav. (See previous post). I promise we won’t sing Oklahoma, well maybe not.
If you can’t be there, please join us in praying for our attendees, for Kay Arthur, Priscilla Shirer, and Beth Moore, and of course our guy, Travis Cottrell and our team.
We hope you had a great year too!
Full on fruit!
Paige

  1. The wind does really come sweeping down the plain and don’t worry, we all sing it when we say Oklahoma, too :)
Looking forward to a wonderful time at Deeper Still.

  2. Thanks Cindy! Can’t wait to see you. If you see me scurrying around on the floor please grab me. We are SOO excited. And are packing our scarves for that wind sweeping down the plain!

  3. I am so excited about this weekend! It’s been over two years since I attended a Deeper Still conference (Nashville) but the impact is still fresh with me. I know God will do the same thing this time, and I can’t wait.
One request: if you sing Oooooklahoma, would you also dance? Pleeeeeze? ;)

I am praying for those that attend the Deeper Still in Oklahoma. I am believing the Lord for a way to attend the conference next year. Jesus used our Siesta Mama to radically change my life years ago, and then added to it with the addition on a bible study with Kay. I will try to do a bible study with Priscilla and be blessed abundantly.
Lord bless each and every participant, team member and staff personal at this coming event. I know that you are delighted to see the lives of your daughters forever changed as you speak clearly through the wonderful servants Kay, Beth and Priscilla that call you Lord. Have a wonderful transforming time.

  6. Now I’m gonna be singing that song for the rest of the day. My sister chicks at the secret sister party tonight are gonna love me – I’m a hummer. Not the honking big automobile kinda hummer just a regular ol gal kinda hummer.
    “O-K-L-A-H-O-M-A… Oklahooooooooma!”

  7. For some pure, beautiful refreshment. God is so good to fill us up when we’re completely worn out. I know He knows that’s where I’ve been this week. Looking forward to His word coming alive!

  8. Emptiness and need remind us there is something better and worth striving for. May the Lord give us “food convenient” so we do not deny him.
