Okay, we had so much fun with the caption contest! It served to confirm what we already knew, which is that the best part of Allaccess is your input.
I mean, clearly, I can just blah, blah, blah all day long but, like my husband keeps telling me, it gets tiresome after a while.
So here’s your chance to contribute to what we’re doing here.
Travis Cottrell has agreed, after only small amounts of begging and pleading, to answer any questions y’all may have for him right here on Allaccess.
Our thought is that this can become a regular feature and, eventually, we will totally con every member of the Praise Team, LifeWay Event Team, and possibly even speakers and authors to do the same thing.
And here I thought my career in sales was over.
Anyway, leave your questions in the comments and Travis will answer them starting next Wednesday.
Can’t wait to see what you come up with!

  1. I don’t really have a question, just a comment. I saw in my worship bulletin this past Sunday that Travis is coming to our church (located in a suburb of Jackson, MS) in December. I am so excited! I can’t wait to experience the powerful worship through song that you guys speak of at the conferences. Thanks!

What a great idea! I’m sure that I could track down this information if I tried hard enough, but this is much easier! I have had occasion to want to write a letter to Travis and his praise team, letting them know how their ministry of music has impacted my life personally. Is there an official email/snail mail address for such things? Thanks in advance!

  3. Oh, this is an awesome opportunity!
I’m sure Travis has been asked this a million times before BUT I’m gonna ask anyway cause I don’t know the answer :-)
My niece has a phenomenal voice! I’m not biased and I’m not kidding! She has gradually improved over the years and when I heard her sing for my sisters wedding, I literally started crying it was so good. So, what are some avenues young Christians should take in looking for getting their talent noticed? Is there an order they should follow or just throw it all into as many boats as they can and see what comes their way?
    Thanks!
    Sallie

  4. How do you rest/chill out after a Living Proof Live event? What do you do to wind down when it’s over?
Also, I’m just curious about what you do to prepare for LPL events. How do you pick the songs? How do you keep your voice strong during such a packed weekend? What do you do to make sure the whole worship team is of one heart and one purpose?
I think that’s more than one question. :-)
    Thanks!!!

Do you have a housekeeper? Do you mow your lawn or do you have someone do it? Do you cook?

  6. Travis,
Your music and the music of the Praise Team is a wonderful blessing for all those who experience it!
Is leading worship at a Living Proof event different than leading worship at other venues? I guess my real question is: Is leading worship with 19,000 women different than leading a group of both genders?
Thanks to you and your family for all you do!

  7. You do so many events…do you ever just get burned out? If so, how do you re-find your creative juices?
Do you and Beth coordinate the “theme” for each event so you can choose music that will speak directly to that subject?
When are you going to do a new LPL CD? Loved all the songs from the simulcast! That would make a great CD.

  8. This is so exciting!! :)
Do you ever get nervous in front of all those people?
How’d you meet the Mama’s? (Boo and Big)
Have you ever written a song for you wife?
I could go on all day, but I’ll stop there and let some others have a turn. :)

  9. What does this quote from your blog mean?
“A little unusual for Levi. Not so unusual being the child of Angela Cottrell. HAHA Just kidding. Yes. No. Yes.”
Oh yes, wanna be startin’ somethin’.
    Praying for you all
    Holly

  10. I cried in my church this Sunday as I sat on the back pew. Why? The choir sang In Christ Alone and it is mine and Jesus’ song. It has ministered to me in the privacy of my own home and in my private worship…and with 20,000+ women in corporate worship. And then, on that back pew…I just couldn’t hold back the tears. I love Jesus so much and that song, well, it just is my heart for Him. Travis, is there a song that does that to you?

  11. First, I want to say thank you for being a true worship leader. It is obvious that you have worshipped privately as it shows in your countenance when leading us in corporate worship.
As the wife of a Music Minister for 31 years…(and my precious husband says “song leader years” are counted differently than “pastor years” AMEN?) I am so thankful to see that you have never stopped singing the great hymns of the faith! THANK YOU! I love the way you blend the old and new, whether choruses or hymns.
GOD LOVES THE MUSIC HIS CHILDREN ARE SINGING UNTO HIM IN SPIRIT AND TRUTH!
Take joy my King, in what You hear…may it be a sweet, sweet sound in Your Ear.
Finally…here’s my question: do you have a favorite hymn?
Thank you for this awesome post idea!

  12. Hi Travis,
I was told that you wrote the words to the opening video for Deeper Still in Atlanta.
This really touched me and I would love to have a copy of the words. Will this become available at some point? Thank you and your praise team for all you do to lead our praise to our Lord at these events!

  13. I have several questions…sorry.
Who do we contact for booking info for you and the praise team to come to our church?
Are you even taking new bookings right now?
    Do you give voice lessons?
Do you ever recruit new members for the praise team (not that you need to…they all are amazing)?
I know on your blog you have talked about your favorite hymn but what about your favorite praise and worship song?
I could go on and on but will restrain myself. Can’t wait to hear your answers to everyone’s questions.

  14. I totally relate with Deborah about In Christ Alone. We too have sang it several times at church and it takes me right back to 19,000 women in the arenas in Nashville and Atlanta lifting our voices up. I cry every time! I would like to know how old you were when you started singing? Thanks to everybody behind the scenes that work so hard to bring these events together!

  16. Where did Angela, your lovely wife, get those amazing, life changing trouser jeans?
    KIDDING, just KIDDING!!
(Regular readers of Boo and Big understand the importance of this questions)

  17. Hi Travis, Thank you for following God’s gift for you. I have been in several of your worship sessions and felt the Holy Spirit move so powerfully across the crowd and in my heart.
My daughter signs worship songs at church and is quite talented. (Yes, I’m a proud mama!) Do you have a recommendation on how to use this gift of expression as a career? What type of education does she need and do you have your own signers that travel with you or do you just get them in the event city?

  19. I love your ministry Travis! I have your CD’s in my car, in my house, on my ipod… I can’t even begin to tell you how much God has used your music in my life! I so am grateful! Thank you!
The Alleluia song (that may not be the name) you sang in San Antonio… it was so powerful! Do you have that song recorded? What is the name of that song and how can I get it on my itunes! : )
    Thanks- God Bless!
    Emmy : )

  20. Kelly Snodgrass says:

    Travis,
I can’t wait for the release of your Christmas cd! Are you recording another worship cd any time soon, if so, when would it be available?
Also, is there a verse or part of Scripture God us using to speak to you now?
Thank you for your music and ministry!

  21. I just would love to hear the whole story about how you started doing the LPM events with Beth Moore? How did y’all meet and how did it all come together in such awesome events?

  22. No questions….just encouragement!
Thank you Trav for living out loud! You’re ministry has really made a difference in the Kingdom!
    Keep on singin, dude!
