Claiming God's Power Over Our Lives

His divine power has given us everything required for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness. 2 Peter 1:3

I love this Bible verse, which is the Day 5 Bible verse in Amazing Wonders Aviation. As we start a new year full of questions, concerns, and possibly a few surprises, it is so encouraging to know that we have everything we need to be equipped for whatever the new year brings.

We can serve Him and worship Him in so many ways because He has given us the ability to do so. Whether this is your first time to teach VBS, your first time to participate in an overseas mission trip, or you have other ministry opportunities that you were not expecting in 2012, God has given you “everything required for life and godliness.”  We cannot do big things for God in our own power, but we can do impossible things for Him through His power.

Whatever God wants us to accomplish for Him in 2012 can be considered done! We’ll have everything we need to complete the task! What is God equipping you to do in 2012?

I am reading the Bible through this year in the Message to perhaps get a new look at some verses and I am just finighed Numbers. God really spoke to me with these 3 verses. The Quail episode! Sometime we think a task is too big. Listen to what God says about that in the Message

21-22 Moses said, “I’m standing here surrounded by 600,000 men on foot and you say, ‘I’ll give them meat, meat every day for a month.’ So where’s it coming from? Even if all the flocks and herds were butchered, would that be enough? Even if all the fish in the sea were caught, would that be enough?”

23 God answered Moses, “So, do you think I can’t take care of you? You’ll see soon enough whether what I say happens for you or not.”

Don’t you just love it when God nails an issue, which He always does with the Word.

Thanks, Darlene! We will be short at least 10 people in VBS this year, people that had major roles in the past, all due to a variety of reasons (We are a small church.). It’s been a bit hard to get motivated, I needed this today. Thanks again for your post.
