Being busy is such a lifestyle these days. Whatever it is you do, you have the opportunity to do too much. Sometimes it’s important to really sit back and think about what kinds of things on your to-do list are urgent and what things are important.
For example, cutting out 150 triangles by yourself for this week’s lesson may be urgent, however, you have a sick child and taking care of that sick child is important. You still need to cut out the triangles, but you can always find ways to divide up and delegate that work. Your child will not have anyone else to care for them while they are sick.
There are lots of urgent things, there are few important things. My fear is that we let urgent things overshadow the important things. Anyone remember the story of Mary and Martha from Luke 10? This is the same concept. Martha was so busy with the urgent things that she forgot what was really important was spending time with Jesus.
Re-evaluate the tasks set before you. Try to discern which ones are your important things and which ones you can get help with. Being busy may make you feel more important, but it can make you miss out on those really important things that God has put in your life to shape you into who you need to be.
