I still remember the way I would dread February. Seriously, like the way a turkey dreads Thanksgiving kind of dread. It was such a pitiful time for me because (cue sad violin music) I did not have a special someone. Not in high school. Not in college. Not for several years. So, the pink and red and hearts and cupids all made me want to vomit. Okay, maybe that is a little harsh. It hurt, y’all. Someone out there knows where I’m coming from.
Maybe that is why I have such a heart (no pun intended) for women. I wish I could just hug each one of you. When I posted this on Facebook, it wasn’t just a trite something to say to get a few “likes.” It’s because people need to know they are loved. I know that doesn’t instantly wipe away the loneliness or make your apartment seem less empty. My prayer, however, is that deep down inside – you feel it. I want you to look in the mirror and see yourself the way God sees you. Because, when He looks at you, He smiles. He is so positively smitten with you. You make His heart go pitter-pat.
So, go to the store. Buy the biggest, chocolate heart you can find and eat it up, girlfriend. Because you have a valentine and He gave everything He had to make you His own.
While you’re eating the chocolate heart, you really want to check these links out. There is some really good stuff in there this week!
