You can’t control the things the world throws at you, but you can control how you respond. Satan does not like it when we choose to follow and obey Christ. The great enemy of God will seek to defeat us, pull us from full devotion to Christ, and make us ineffective. Thankfully, we are not left alone to face this great enemy. God is with us, and He’s equipped us with the tools necessary to stand strong in the face of attacks. Life is tough, but we are guaranteed success when we trust in Jesus and the armor He’s provided.
Jesus came to earth as a warrior to wage an aggressive spiritual campaign against the armies of darkness. He’s called His followers to step into the throes of battle. I expect that you experience spiritual battles every day.
- You’re tempted to give into that habitual sin, but you know it’s wrong and the internal struggle commences.
- You used angry words and the Holy Spirit convicts you. Will you shrug it off as no big deal, or will you humbly confess it to God?
Every day we roll out of bed and step into a battle for the souls of people, yet we are often perilously unprepared and fall prey to the evil one. The first step to living successfully is acknowledging our own negligence. What have you neglected that’s kept you from fighting well for God?
- This week, as you commit to being more prepared for spiritual battle, pay attention to the victories you experience. Seek to pass these principles onto students who are also in the thick of battle.
