This week begins our new summer quarter, and I’m so excited for you to jump into this first unit that is all about relationships. In our culture, people are more connected than ever, but somehow we lack deeply meaningful relationships. We’ll look into the ways God blesses His people, and blesses others through them, by means of our relationships—with family and friends, with authority figures and nonbelievers, and ultimately with Him! This first session reveals that Jesus gives us the key to meaningful relationships. Our relationship with God is of the highest priority, and all others flow from there. This makes all the difference.
God created people to experience full and meaningful lives (John 10:10). However, because of our rebellion, we are separated from Him and are all too quick to settle for what this world has to offer. But this is not the end of the story. Jesus, the vine, has created a way that we can experience the fullness that God originally intended. It involves our connecting with and abiding in Him—being satisfied with what He gives as opposed to the things of the world. It’s clear that you have a deep desire to see students connect with Jesus in a meaningful way. As their leader, it’s important that you make sure to be an example.
- This week, take time to connect with Jesus. Abide in Jesus. Behold His glories. As you experience the fullness of joy He provides, the fruit you bear will have a great impact on students.
