- What food tempts you to say yes to just one more bite?
In “The Bible Meets Life” on page 20 of the PSG, we learn that temptations are often based on deceit. They promise good things, but in the end they fail to deliver.
- How have you found temptation to be the ultimate “bait and switch?”
So far, we’ve discussed the process that temptation follows as well as gifts God provides to help us live righteously. Consider the following quote from Martin Luther: “Temptations, of course, cannot be avoided, but because we cannot prevent the birds from flying over our heads, there is no need that we should let them nest in our hair.”
- Do you agree or disagree with Luther’s thoughts on temptation?
- When it comes to averting temptation, how successful are you?
