Bible Story: Trouble for Paul Acts 21:27–22:29

 

Life Point: God is with us all the time.

Life Verse: God cares for you.  1 Peter 5:7

Christ Focus: Jesus stood strong against opposition.

Bible Focus: Paul talked loudly to a large group of people.

Materials: Bible Story Picture: “Trouble for Paul,” toy megaphones

  • Place the Bible Story Picture with the megaphones.
  • When a preschooler comes near, hold a megaphone to your mouth and say, “Jesus loves you.”  Encourage the children to use the megaphones to say something about Jesus.
  • Show the Bible story picture. Comment that Paul told a large group of people about Jesus.

3–Pre-K—Record Voices

Bible Story: Paul Preached to an Angry Crowd Acts 21:27–22:29

 Life Point: God is with us all the time.

Life Verse: God cares for you.  1 Peter 5:7

 Christ Focus: Jesus stood strong against opposition.

Bible Focus: Paul told people about Jesus.

 Materials: Teaching Picture 10, digital recorder or cell phone

  • Record each child saying the Life Verse or something about Jesus.
  • Gather several children together to play a game. Play one of the recordings and challenge the kids to guess whose voice is on the recorder.
  • Show the Teaching Picture and talk about the Bible story. Comment that Paul told about Jesus even though he was in trouble.

Kindergarten—Make a Yard Sign

Christ Focus: Jesus stood strong against opposition.

Bible Focus: Paul preached about Jesus.

Materials: Teaching Picture 10, poster board, paint stir sticks, tape, markers

  • Cut each poster board into four pieces. Display the Teaching Picture with the other materials.
  • Invite boys and girls to make signs to put in their yards. Help them print words about Jesus onto their posters. They can decorate their signs with markers.
  • Talk about the Bible story as children create. Point to the Teaching Picture and comment that Paul kept telling about Jesus even when he was in trouble.
