Bible Story Lydia Learned About Jesus Acts 16:11-15

Christ Focus: Every person matters to Jesus.

Bible Focus: Paul taught Lydia about Jesus.

Materials: Bible Story Picture: “Lydia Learned About Jesus,” older Teaching Pictures of Jesus, beanbags, tape

  • Tape the Teaching Pictures to the floor. Lay the beanbags near the pictures.
  • Invite a preschooler to toss a beanbag onto one of the pictures. Talk about the Bible story depicted in that picture.
  • When a beanbag lands on today’s picture, talk about the Bible story. Comment that Lydia learned about Jesus and we are learning about Jesus.

3–Pre-K—Make a Face Collage

Bible Story: Paul Became a Missionary Acts 13

 Life Point: God wants us to go and tell about Jesus.

Life Verse: God will give you strength. 1 Peter 5:10

 Christ Focus: Go and tell about Jesus.

Bible Focus: Paul told people about Jesus.

 Materials: Teaching Picture 8, faces cut from magazines, glue sticks, paper, marker

  • At the top of each paper, print God wants me to tell people about Jesus.
  • Display the Teaching Picture with the other supplies.
  • Invite preschoolers to make a collage with the faces.
  • Show the Teaching Picture and talk about the Bible story. Comment that God wants us to tell others about Jesus.
    • Lead each child to name one person he could tell about Jesus.

Kindergarten—Use Communication Tools

 Bible Story: Paul Became a Missionary Acts 13

 Life Point: God wants us to go and tell about Jesus.

Life Verse: God will give you strength. 1 Peter 5:10

 Christ Focus: Go and tell about Jesus.

 Bible Focus: Paul told people about Jesus.

 Materials: Teaching Picture 8, old telephones or cell phones, computer keyboard or old laptop computer, paper, envelopes, gel pens

  • Show the Teaching Picture as kindergartners show interest in the center. Comment that Paul became a missionary who traveled many places to tell people about Jesus.
  • As kindergartners investigate the items, discuss how each could be used to tell people about Jesus.
